How to record a task

The quickest way to give Aisys everything it needs is to record yourself doing the task. Use ScreenPal, Loom, YouTube, Wistia or Vidyard. The video doubles up as a training guide for whoever takes the task over.

How to record yourself doing a task

Next time you do the task, record your screen. Do the task as you normally would, and talk through what you are doing and which apps and sites you are using.

What to mention as you go

Try to mention these seven, but do not worry - Aisys will ask if you miss anything.

1. 1What you are about to do. "In this video I'm going to show you how to schedule the weekly social post."
2. 2Why it matters. "The posts have to go out in the order set in the content plan."
3. 3Which apps you are using. "I'm going to Facebook, and I'll need the Content Pipeline spreadsheet open too."
4. 4How you log in - a shared account from LastPass, or your own account.
5. 5The steps. Not click by click, just the actions.
6. 6The critical checks - anything that must not be missed. "Always check the time zone on the schedule."
7. 7Roughly how long it takes. "This usually takes about ten minutes."
